Our carpet & upholstery cleaner is a saline base, contains no soap, no foaming agents, no dyes, and no perfumes. Its really good stuff... IMO one of our most under-rated products b/c cleaning upholstery just isn't 'sexy' like paint is.

Ideally you'll also want to use an 'extractor' to pull the moisture back out of the material after cleaning. Most professional tools will be more than people are willing to spend for just personal use, so a good alternative is the Bissel Little Green Machine. Usually $100 at walmart, target, sears, etc and while its not a TRUE extractor its about as close as you'll get for the $$$ and it does a decent job.

The stitching can usually be cleaned by a little light scrubbing with a cleaner dampened microfiber. I just take a short knap towel spray a little of the carpet & upholstery cleaner and gently wipe the stitching... depending on what exactly the staining is it might come out 100% or need something a little more aggressive. Just have to be careful not to scrub to aggressively or use a brush... stuff like that can pop the stitches and obviously you don't want that.
