Doubtful...
If anything Gm needs to keep improving upon the push rod, single cam, V8 and use it's low center of mass, small dimensions but large displacement and simplicity to compete with the Ford and Mopar.
Why they choose to put such a compact motor in a massive car like the 5th gen is beyond me. The biggest problem with the 5 gen is it's size and weight not it's push rods...
Maybe GM will develop a better VVT (cam within a cam) for the future LT engines and give us the best of both worlds?
