RacingBrake - Big Brake Kit, Front, w/ Rotors, 4 Piston Aluminum Calipers, SS Lines and Pads: $2265

This is a complete brake kit for Camaro SS and a BBK for all V6 models from 2010 and up.
This kit includes:
  • 2 Two-piece open slot center-mount rotors.
  • 2 4-Piston calipers
  • 2 Aluminum adapters made of 7075-T6 Alloy (stronger and stiffer than 6061-T6)
  • 1 Set of RB ET300 brake pads
  • 1 Pair of front stainless steel brake lines
  • 1-Liter ATE Super Blue brake fluid
RacingBrake aluminum caliper big brake kits decrease stopping distance, eliminate brake fade, stiffen the brake pedal, and provide better brake modulation. Through our patented two-piece rotor design, we keep the brake system cool and increase braking power, longevity, and performance. Most of our racing customers demand strong and consistent brake torque under "extreme" braking conditions, durable system components, and an affordable price. RacingBrake focuses on these expectations and delivers a system that suits racers' braking needs and includes everything needed for a complete installation.

RacingBrake Calipers

RacingBrake Calipers are made from forged 6061-T6 aluminum and precisely machined to every detail. Stock calipers - aluminum (Brembo) or cast iron (06-08 WRX) are mass-produced and are usually made through a casting or extrusion process which is not as dense and strong in structure as forging.

- Caliper Body: Made of forged 6061-T6. Light weight at only 4.5lbs, these new RB4000 calipers are re-designed and built for the toughest brake jobs with extended service life before any rebuild is required.

- Low Profile: Together with RB Center-Mount design two-piece rotors, you hardly even need to require a spacer to install the kit.

- Piston Material: Made of stainless steel instead of aluminum commonly used by other caliper mfgrs which can substantially reduce the heat transfer (approx 1/10 of aluminum) from the pad to brake fluid. Pistons are vented to furtherreduce the heat contact area and improve air circulation thereby reducing more heat transfer.

- Dust Seal: Our dust seal is of built-in type (instead of external boot type) uniquely designed to shield the dust and foreign material from contamination and will not rip - as commonly seen on boot type dust seals.

- Hardware:
Brake pad pins and banjo connections were re-designed for easier brake line connection and brake pad replacement.

- Surface Coating: Powder coating with most durable finish for lasting appeal.

- Hardware: Most hardware is made of stainless steel for durable performance and appearance.

- Never Get Lost Bleeder Cap: Newly designed with a retaining loop so you will never have to find it again and/replace the lost ones. (made of durable EPDM)

RacingBrake Rotors

RacingBrake Rotors are made from forged 6061-T6 aluminum and precisely machined to every detail. Stock calipers - aluminum (Brembo) or cast iron (06-08 WRX) are mass-produced and are usually made through a casting or extrusion process which is not as dense and strong in structure as forging.

RacingBrake Rotors are are directional (different for left and right sides), heat treated for added strength, and use RB's patented center mount design and convergent vane design, which increase airflow and makes the disc cooler. Electrodeposition Paint (EDP) is used to coat the aluminum hat, which is light weight and highly resistant to rust and corrosion. Hardware is a simple 2-piece component design (stud & nut) and is self locking to prevent the use of springs, glue, or clips.

Rotor Design:
Our unique and patented rotor designs make our discs cooler and last longer.
  1. Convergent vane design

The cooling vanes are of a convergent nozzle design, which increases airflow and turbulence and makes discs cooler. (Illustration #1)
  2. Center-mount design

The center-mount flanges for hat mounting to the rotor ring have several benefits. (Illustration #2)
    • It allows the ring to be used on either side of the vehicle simply by mounting the hat on either side of the ring (unidirectional).
    • The stress load transferred from the ring to the hat is balanced.
    • Air inlets are widely open to both inboard and outboard sides of the rotor. More air suctions and even temperature on both sides of the disc surface.
    • Heat transfer from the disc surfaces to the hat is even and minimized by increasing the flange length and the airflow around the flanges.
    • Mounting flanges are on both friction surfaces ultimately provides excellent heat balance.
  3. True floating design

Exclusive full floating design with 10.9 grade alloyed hardware. Hardware is DACRO coated and crimp locking. DACRO is highly corrosion resistant and provides a film for easier movement between the hat and rotor ring as disc expands and contracts and the crimp design provides positive engagement without rattling or torque loss at temperature.

RB ET Series Brake Pads

From daily driver to dedicated tracking racing enthusiast, our ET-series brake pads provide a selection of various compounds that makes them easy to choose and use at an affordable cost.

ET-Series Performance Street Compounds

The ET Series compounds provide excellent modulation, consistent friction and torque output, and can be run from ambient temperature, even during cold winter mornings.

ET300: Performance Street - Delivers braking performance beyond stock pads, yet with minimal dust and no squeaking

ET500: Aggressive Street - Provides additional stopping power over ET300; low dust and little to no squeaking.

ET700-900: Advanced Street - For very adventurous street driving. Not for use on the track, as high temperatures will greatly accelerate pad wear. For track racing, use our XT-Series brake pads.

RB XT-Series Motorsports Compounds

The XT Series compounds were developed to handle the toughest track braking conditions. All of our XT series can deliver consistent brake torque, are excellent in modulation and highly resistant to wear, friendly to rotors, brake dust is easy to clean, and brake control.

XT910: Medium initial bite, medium to high friction and brake torque.

XT960: Medium initial bite, high friction and brake torque.

XT970: High initial bite, Extremely high friction and brake torque.
Since these pads are formulated for track/high temperature use, using them on the street may result some unfavorable situations such as brake squeal, dirty wheels, less brake friction at cold temperatures, and excessive rotor wear. For street driving, we recommended that you use our ET series pads.

Break-In

All brake pads are recommended to be bedded-in properly according to the proper break-in procedure to assure optimal performance.

Break Pad Performance

The overall brake pad performance can be affected by the rotor material and its surface finish, calipers, and brake bias.

Brake Pad Replacement Important to know!
Since the brake pad consists of the friction material, insulator, bonding agent, and a steel plate, the pads must be replaced when the "non-steel" material wears down to approximately the same thickness as the steel back plate or to the grooves in the pad (if applicable). However, since the groove depth varies from one pad manufacturer to another, we do not recommend running the pad thinner than 4mm (0.16"). This minimum wear thickness is a checkpoint for pad replacement to prevent severe damage from occurring to the brake system, including rotors and calipers.

RacingBrake - Aluminum Caliper Upgrade Kit: $1425.99

Stock sized rotors are required and not included with this kit.
This kit can be used as a caliper upgrade for OEM or aftermarket rotors (with the same size and offset). It is highly recommend for people who are considering this option to purchase the complete kit to assure the compatibility and peak performance of the brake system. Please note that any issue associated with the non-RB rotors is not warranted.

This kit comes with the following:
  • (2) 4-piston aluminum calipers (RB460)
  • (2) Aluminum adapters
  • (1) Set of ET300 brake pads
  • (1) Pair of front stainless steel brake lines
Benefits of using RB calipers versus stock calipers:
For street driving, here are the benefits:
  1. Lighter weight calipers, which means that you are removing unpsrung weight from your vehicle, which results in better cornering and handling.
  2. Better cosmetic looks - our caliper looks much more impressive in your wheel versus the OE caliper. The calipers are powder coated in California with glossy powder coat.
  3. Brake pads are readily available (FMSI pad shape D1149) and easy to replace.
  4. Quality Assurance - each caliper is assembled and hydro tested in our California facility.
For drivers who race, our calipers offer an even greater benefit versus OEM and other companies' Big Brake Kits:
  1. The pistons are made out of stainless steel versus the usual aluminum material, resulting in less heat being transferred back to the brake fluid. This means that there is less of a chance of air being introduced into your brake line.
  2. Pistons are dust sealed and pressure sealed to maintain longevity and reduce maintenance.
