I entirely agree. It's definitely an "I can't/don't/won't be bothered" quote and very very frustrating! I installed the onstar box myself and it took (for someone w/NO mechanic experience) approximately 30 minutes to install, and it works. BUT, it would seem, getting ANY dealer (in this area) to perform the BCM update is the challenge for the steering wheel controls? Since you've already installed the steering wheel w/controls, have you actually located a dealer that will do the update? It's all just kind of puzzling.
