I went a couple years ago...lambo's, Ferrari's, Vipers, Porches, Vettes, and TONS of others...it was an incredible sight. ...not to mention the fact that the state troopers shut down the highway for us.

...and, I know it's going to be a Wednesday morning, but...we can show...and it's for a GREAT cause. Let's do it!

The Sunshine Kids Cruise to the Texas State Capitol

SHOWCARS 4 KIDS would like to invite you, your family and friends to join us in taking 30 kids with cancer on a wild car cruise from San Marcos to the state capitol in downtown Austin. We are looking for the hottest and fastest cars in Central Texas to join us. However, all vehicles must be in a show quality finished condition. Please no work in progress, no visible damage internal or external, and no hotroding or unsafe acts while in cruise or at any of the locations.

On June 9, 2010 we will meet in South Austin at 7:45 am in the Blockbuster Movies Parking lot off IH-35 and William Cannon. From there at 8:15 am (SHARP) we will head out to the Activity Center in San Marcos. There, we will pick up the kids and have a police escort up IH-35 to Slaughter Lane. From there we hit Congress and head straight through downtown and to the capitol. The escort will block all roads and intersections for us. We will have our own parking with security to watch the vehicles and have a tour of the capitol with the kids. After the tour we will meet the Speaker of the House and maybe the Governor himself! Lunch will be provided for after the cruise. We should be done around 2 pm.

There is NO COST OR REQUIREMENT to attend other than all vehicles being in a clean show like shape. However, we are looking for a couple of good businesses to donate $300.00 each to purchase T-shirts for the kids and all drivers. If you know of a company that would like to help out please let us know. We will have full color graphics, business name and logo on the back of 100 T-shirts. We also encourage you to bring any advertisements to pass out to the drivers. Your spouse and or children are encouraged to come along. We do ask that during the cruise from San Marcos to the Capitol you give The Sunshine Kids shotgun. If you or any one you know would like to attend please contact us by May 31 with 100% knowledge that you will attend. Please let us know what vehicle you will be driving. Due to changing times, There are a couple new rules. Rules of the vehicle must be in show like condition with no damage of any kinds and NO works in progress are still the same. There is now a Volunteer Guideline Agreement that ALL volunteers must read, sign and follow. Please keep in mind the Cruise is for the kids, and the guidelines are to help them have a safe and fun time. I have attached a copy of the guidelines. Please print, read, sign and bring with you on June 9th. Must have this signed to take part. Thanks for EVERYONE'S help and support for the Sunshine Kids. 7:15 a.m. leaving at 7:40 SHARP

2) San Marcos, Texas, City of San Marcos Activity Center (630 E. Hopkins St. San Marcos, Texas 78666)
8:00 a.m.

PLEASE NOTE: We are on a time crunch and must stay on track. This is our 11th or 12th year doing this with the Sunshine Kids. It is done at no cost to anyone driver or volunteer. However the fact is harsh, but the event is costly. If anyone would like to join our sponsors and supports and give a donation that will go 100% to the Sunshine Kids please do so. See me the day of the event (or email me) and I will help you out. If you want to give a donation by check make it payable to Sunshine Kids and we will give it to them on the 9th. Special Note: I am helping a motorcycle club called EVO put on a similar cruise with motorcycles on Saturday June 12th for the Sunshine Kids. If you would like information on it please email me and I will forward the information.
