Being from Tennessee but traveling the US for work I can tell you that people are nicer down South. I don't say this because I live here it's just the truth. When I leave for a job I really have to get mentally ready for the traffic that I know I will face. I drive somewhere around 40,000 miles yearly and have seen it all.
When I am off work (which is 5 months a year) we travel to the Smokies quite often, usually two to three times a month. Very enjoyable drive being just 2 hours from the house.
