I think the paint of the car is fine. Its basically up to you whether you want to keep you vehicle scratch free. Before picking up the Z, I never cared how I washed my SUV. I dried it with regular bath towels. Used dish soap and dressed the tires only. SO you only imagine how that paint looks to my Z. DO the research and work to keep your camaro from being swirl city
