Asking what the finishing of the inside of the throttle body does for the car can be sort of explained by understanding why a golf ball has dimples. The golf ball actually has less wind resistance with the dimples than it does if it was smooth - crazy, huh? Same idea here. The machined patterning cut into the revised throttle body helps airflow.
