First thing you look for on old cars is rust, and how bad it is. If the body is a good shape and might be a goodi project car. It can get very expensive replacing sheet metal and the cost associated doing the restoration. The bottom line is you can built it to your liking and keep it stock or modify it so it more fun to drive.
