The stock system is stainless steel. Not the highest grade of stainless, but it is stainless and will last many years.
If longevity is number one, why not get the years of use out of the stock system - then replace. Unless you take a lot of short trips, it will be many years.
I live in the rust belt, and have had many OE exhaust systems last many many years. I sold an 03 Silverado last year that had been through 6 winters, and still on the OE exhaust.
