The torque rating for the TR6060 is NOT the maximum torque that the transmission can take before something breaks. It just means that it has been rated at 430 ft-lbs. to live for the life of the vehicle with durability testing run at 430 ft-lbs. A good rule of thumb in automotive design is that a safety factor of 3 is usually what most components are designed to in automotive applications.
