Well, I have a car with a 7.5L V8, 455 bored 0.030" over, big deal heads, high lift split duration cam, roller rockers, cast aluminum tall valve covers for rocker clearance, head studs, aluminum dual plane intake 800 cfm carb, 9 way double roller, high performance fuel pump, oil pump, and timing cover with improved oil passages, 10:1 forged pistons, blah blah blah.

I look at that this way: what would I pay for that engine? There's easily 4 grand in parts, not even counting the block and crank and the 0 dollar value for balancing and machine work I had done. It's built right, by me, and that's worth 0 dollars too.

I wouldn't pay 4 grand for it if I was in the market. No way. I'd call it 50 cents on every dollar. It's used.
