What are your future plans?
The negative is you give up your power train warranty. Everything else is a postive (car runs better, more HP, more TQ, reduced TQ management, et).

I tuned my car right after purchasing it (L99 A6). Back in 2009 when I got my car, L99s really needed tuning (factor tune sucked). My car picked up around 30 ft lbs of TQ throughout most of the RPM range with the tune.

I also knew I was going to get more mods in the near future (intake, headers, etc).l

There really is two paths to take
1. Keep the car stock and enjoy it.
2. Mod it and have fun with the understanding you're giving up your powertrain warranty.

I've been quite lucky. My car is 3.5 years old (race it occasioanlly with bolt on mods) and I've had zero issues.
