My question would be, out of all of you, who has track experience ?
I've seen many a car who gave up a considerable amount of power win a 1/4 drag race. Driver knowledge and skill can be just as important as a drag radial tire, and can easily trump a 50 RWHP deficiet....especially when they're 400 lbs lighter, as you alluded to.
Adding to that is your reaction time on the tree..... sleep at the light and it could be all over by the 1/8th.
Remember......a 1/4 drag race is about who gets across the stripe first.....not who traps the highest MPH or runs the lower ET.
