This car gets a lot of attention wherever it goes, still. It must be the stripes.
With these suspension mods and better tires it will handle with or better than a 1LE. With a pro at the wheel (not me) on a race track (Millville, NJ) my Camaro ran down a C6 Vette (non GS) among others, picking them off like flies. She said something like "Big as a boat, but really fast and stable in the turns. Big power, good brakes."
I never had it tuned, and it has not been back to the dealer since the Long Tubes. I will occasionally get a CEL. So I keep a code editor in the car to check it and turn it off when the light comes on. No big deal really. I will put the stock manifolds (very heavy) and cats back on if you wish. Never had it dynoed but LS3s with these mods will get you 400-425 RWHP. Probably my car is on the low side of this, but a tune will get you another 5-10 or so. I decided to keep the drivetrain warranty. You benefit by still having the choice.
Cosmetics:
- BumbleBee Vinyl stripes - a few small chips patched
- Small dings on right quarter. See pics, bicycle in garage. :-(
- A little curb rash on a couple of the wheels, hardly noticable
I will miss it but I need the $$.
