I was forced to drive my 97 Z/28 for a couple weeks one winter due to problems with my jeep. I didn't have snow tires but driving it was possible as long as I planed my route ahead of time to avoid even the shallowest hills. Filling your trunk with a few sand bags would be a good idea too.
