It has a molded edge designed so the part sits on the painted surface. Notice how we only cut a rectangular area only in the front. The insert sit on the cowl, it is a little less than 1/4'' (somewhere near 4-5 mm)
Similar mounting system to the original Zl1, the difference is the ZL1 Hood was stamped with a recess.
