The intake elbow just has a rip where it connects to the throttle body and the intake tubing and filter just needs to be replaced in general. Honestly, I'd take it in and have a reputable transmission shop take a look at the car by 'attempting' to drive it to see first hand what the shift linkage and transmission is actually doing. The water pump may not be much of an issue but labor wise it's a pain.
Again it could also just be a bad seal or something. Depending on the age it could also be a bad impeller which is common on some GM pumps.
Depending on the labor involved and what actually is wrong with the transmission, it may be easier to just repair the trans, and sell it with a good trans but with a bad pump if you're that short on cash. Layering up repairs like that is really gonna 'bone' ya in the wallet.
