I'd say get the G8. The g8 is auto with a sports mode, thats the one which you are talking about. Not a bad car. Looks good, and responds well to mods I hear. If you want to break the bank and spend 40k I'd say go for the GXP. It did not have a full year worth of production when Pontiac went under so you would have a car that very few will have. Should be worth some money down the line in the future I would expect. I know I am currently looking for a g8 gt because I can't afford a gxp atm. If you plan on doing any modifications if you buy a g8 go to livernois. For a little over 2k you can get a performance package that should put you around the 450-430hp range with a decent tune. Should be good enough for a low 12 second pass.
