This is another thing I strongly disagree with Adam's policy on. They tell you to leave previous polishes on the paint which is A) Just lazy, and B) Counterproductive. Actually, I'm not sure if they tell you TO leave them on, or if they just say you CAN leave them on, but in any case...

How can you possibly know if you've achieved correction with all that gunk on the paint? You should ALWAYS wipe residue between polishing steps, IMO. That way you can inspect the paint and hit it with another pass if needed before going to your finishing polish. You're not going to correct with FMP something that SHR left behind.

1. Compound, wipe off
2. IPA wipe to remove any possible oils that may fill or mask swirls
3. If it's good, polish. If not, go back to step 1.
4. IPA wipe again, inspect. Good, proceed to sealant. Not, repeat step 3

Yes, it'll take you an extra minute per panel. But getting all done with the car and realizing you didn't get all the swirls costs you a whole day.
