The "sticky weights" aren't falling off any time soon; it's not like the calipers rotate like the wheels do (at least I hope not
) where centrifugal force has a chance of dislodging the weights. I'm so used to them I could care less if they were ever replaced with the "roller skates". To answer your question though, I do not believe there is any "warranty upgrade" to go to the newer style if you have the old.
