I never owned a vehicle with a SC or Turbo, so I have no idea what is a safe range to cruse in.
In my previous cars I would cruse between 3000 - 4000, then step on it and shift at 6000 with a redline of 7000.
I know the mpg won't be pretty, but then again it's not pretty to begin with.

ZL1 seemed to REALLY like the 1300-2000 range for cruising on our little driver. Very little noise (if any, really..), reasonable throttle/acceleration responsive, and good fuel economy (relatively speaking).
It's just so flippin' torquey. There was a small stretch where rpms dropped to 700-900 or so...you could tell the engine was huffing a little...but it wasn't upset about it.
Shifting above 5500 activates skip-shift, for whatever that's worth...redline 6200. It's not a screamer...but it PULLS HARD!
