I got these vents for my 2010 1LTRS and again for my 2011 2SSRS and I did the install myself. I have to say I really love these vents and the look they add to the cars side profile! It was a no brainer when I traded the 1LT for the SS. In each application I have red LED lights on a wireless remote to give that glow for night driving and evening cruise-ins and car shows.
I also did a little test with flare lit in front of the car and placed a fan to direct the smoke into the grill and I could see the smoke coming out the side vents. Easily the air flow from the motor also escapes through and down the openings by the hood hinges and flows on out through the vents. This I feel also helps with removing the heat from the engine bay and like an extractor, elevates the pressure that can build up along the lower bumper as the Hex Vents are touted to do. That said, you have looks, heat extraction and pressure minimized. FTW!!!!
