And yes, wash, clay, polish (if needed), then sealant and/or wax.

What he said... Just make sure as you use the clay to use some sort of lubricant as you clay. I usually use a soap water mix, some use detail spray but if you use detail spray I feel your wasting money on the spray. Soap water mix in a spray bottle works just fine. Spray the area then clay the area. If the clay sticks need more lubricant.
