Qualifying and test and tune were on Friday. Qualifying went until noon Saturday, and the rest of the day was for racing only. If you ran 11.46 then you didn't qualify for the quick 16 in the 500 class.
The other V8 class was for manual cars only, so obviously an auto can't run there.
With so many cars involved it's difficult to create too many categories, and no matter where you end up, there can always be faster cars.
This is where bracket racing comes in. You could've run in that category, but it was cancelled due to the weather.
