Flashback to 2002 I had an 88 GTI with a VR swap and a 100shot of nitrous.

I went 12.95 on regular street tires

I was racing a brand new Z06 with full exhaust and drag radials. He caught me at the line (i had a .005 light to his .3xx) and that Z went 12.58 on that pass.

Fast forward to last summer. Same track same lane only 10 years later - my brothers buddy bought a brand new ZL1 bone stock went 12.54.

Now this guy is an avid drag racer who has won his class in drag week the year he participated.

So with that said - i think the ZL1 is probably a touch faster.
