Is there any accuracy to concerns about negatively affecting PTM, if one switched from the OEM Good Year spec... To a similar high end competitor?

Love the G/Y's but would gladly trade off a little higher end, hot, track tackiness for better ride, quieter, wet traction, street use. More wear would be a bonus. Cost is not first consideration.
The Michelins seem to be the leading contender?
