Maybe in BC you get the good stuff, but I've seen alcohol-based stuff, rated to not freeze until -25F, freeze...and I've never seen -25F.

I wish somebody had sent that memo to my '97 Pontiac. It was really cold/nasty out, I ran the defroster full blast for an hour...then as soon as I put the scraper to the windshield it cracked. Dealer wouldn't cover it under warranty, despite it being a design/manufacture defect IMO (it wasn't cracked by an impact).
