In Sport mode it ALWAYS starts out in 1st whether you use paddles or not. (I prefer not using them) Not sure I follow PQs method of romping on it in drive and expecting it to start out in 1st gear..
I'm going to do the same and pull fuses but will expect the same results as you... pretty sure it has to be broke before you can fix it...
