Around the 500 we have had police escorts to IMS and even with only 50 cars it is a harrowing experience  . Their idea of a police escort is typically blocking an exit for 30sec and then taking off to the next one (leaving everyone else behind to fend for themselves. However I do understand this is the only possible way to do this with a large volume of cars. |
I actually think this will be a lot easier though, as there is only one starting location, and the police force isn't being divided up to monitor multiple intersections at the track, various areas around the track, and multiple dealerships....
May still be a little bit of a PITA...but not as bad as the 500 I do believe.... simply smaller all around group compared to the 500 or 400..
