LOL...I have to laugh because I was beat down like that to try the projectors. I didn't belive it either. I felt my HID bulbs were fine. Then I was harassed to look into the projectors. I didn't believe the price either.
Thank God he did harass me. I did look into them and he was 100% correct. Take it from a un-biased person who has had the Halogen, 8k HID bulbs, 6k HID bulbs, and then 5k projectors. I will promise you if you took a ride in my car you would be a believer as well and you would put the projectors in as fast as you could.
I can also tell you that you can get them for $160 shipped. I know because I did. Again, first hand experience. You already have the ballasts and the relay harness. All you need is the projectors and bulbs. Just call TheRetrofitSource.com (info is in my thread) and get a quote. You'll see. Ask if you have any questions.
Since ya'll are both in NY you need to go see his projectors in person.
