water swishing sound

If I am dumb I am dumb, but today I noticed a sound like swishing water coming from the back of my car, I hear it when I hit the brakes. Car has never been flooding, been in my garage and now I hear this swishing water sound. Any chance somehow my mufflers/cat/exhaust system has somehow filled with water? Or am I going crazy and it is somewhat normal?

Muffler bearings went bad, causing headlight fluid to leak into the mufflers.

In all seriousness, are you sure it isn't the gas tank, or are you fairly certain it is coming from somewhere else?

This. These tanks do not mask the swishing gas very well.

Also if you still have your stock exhaust, the mufflers are most likely filled with water. These cans really retain water, especially if you drive short distances and not allowing them to fully heat up. Make sure the drain holes on the mufflers are clear and draining properly.

if it the gas, now sure how it would sound that loud, and I just filled the car up, not much gas to move around, but who knows maybe it is.

Yeah. It's the gas. It was a lot worse when I first got the cars. But now I don't really notice it. It may be because of the loud exhaust on both the cars (;

I'm sure it's been there (and is most likely a gas sound) but you finally noticed it. Again, check the drain holes on your exhaust if it's stock. There is one on each muffler and one, maybe 2 (cannot remember) on the resonator.

Will check mufflers, it is still stock. If mufflers are plugged and filled with water can this cause any serious issues

im sure over time it "may" cause some corrosion but that would be about it.
