Will 2014 power pass. seat work in a 2010?

I wrecked my 2010 2SS 2 weeks ago. The body shop finally got around to tearing into it to look for hidden damage. So far the estimate is around $18,000. That includes a new passenger seat solely because the airbag deployed--otherwise the seat is fine, but they said they included a new one in the repairs. I asked them if they could order a 2013-2014 full power passenger seat would it work in my 2010. They said it was doubtful, because the electrical connectors are probably completely different. I'd like to know if the electrical connectors and harness are compatible, if not can the 2010 be easily modified to work properly?

Does anyone know if the 2014 seat will work in a 2010? (Passenger side only). Are the seats otherwise identical in appearance? How much extra would a 2014 seat cost over a new 2010?

BTT. Went to the Auto Expo today and sat in a 2014 SS with the Recaro seats. They feel wonderful! Repeating my original question: Do the electrical connections on the 2014 seats (I'm assuming the Recaros have the same connector as the standard SS seats) fit a 2010? In addition to the electrical connector are the mounting rails on the 2014 seats, including the Recaros, different than the 2010. I can see the rails might be different, but the mounting holes should mate up with the 2010. Does anybody know? Bueller?

I've read the '12 seat bottoms can be retro-fit to an '11.

I know this doesn't answer your question directly, but if you were to contact your dealer about the electrical harnesses in the '10s and '11s, and if they are the same...

Also check the DIY on the motorized passenger seat bottom install. Maybe your answer is there.

I found the threads in the DIY section and they are helpful, but those threads didn't make it clear if the existing 2010 floor harness is a plug and play connection to the newer full power passenger seat harness. One thread implied one pin in the seat harness had to be moved to a different pot, but wasn't totally clear on that.

Off topic question, but how did you get $18,000 in damage and your car not be totaled? Wouldn't it be easier to just total the car and go buy a 2014 with Recaros?

This....

What is retail on the car $24k-$26k. I would've thought $18k would pretty much total it out.

I thought for sure they were going to total it. Maybe the body shop guys were pulling my leg with the $18,000 number, because yesterday I spoke to the body shop guy about that and he said the damages weren't even 25% of the value. I'm not really going to know the whole truth until they get it all on paper. They haven't even got it on a rack yet to see if the rear suspension was bent by the impact. Things are going so slow it's going to be at least 2 months before I have it back.

I'd love a 2014 with the Recaros, even at $44,000 I could probably swing it if they gave me $27K to $28K for the car. I'd lose $16K in extras though, they give me nothing for all that.
