Vert Spoiler Question

I was wondering has anyone done the Z28 rear spoiler or any other after market spoiler? If so any pics? I have searched and could not find any. Would the Z28 spoiler interfere with the XM antena/can you still see the rear brake light in from of the XM antena? Thanks

don't think the satellite radio is a problem, but if you weren't aware, it's worth noting that the AM/FM radio antenna is inside the spoiler.

I wasnt aware of that thanks. I am assuming that nobody has done the Z28 spoiler or any other aftermarket spoiler on the vert. Don't know why that is though. i think vert spoiler is better than the SS one

I have a GM dovetail spoiler on mine since it was new. The body shop removed the antenna and put it in the new spoiler. I've also heard of people putting it behind the rear bumper cover.

The XM antenna is in the Shark Fin. The Radio Antenna is in the Spoiler.

Edit Sorry for being redundant just saw someone else said this.

I think SLP has a spoiler for verts.
I got my vert spoiler take off from them, anyway.
they kept the antenna and bits.

I want the dovetail spoiler for my vert but I have called 3 dealers and all are clueless becuse it says not for convertibles even though I have seen at least four Verts with them.

Putting the GM dovetail spoiler on a convertible will give you two of the CHMSL brake lights unless you have one removed.

The Z28 was released in 2014 after the refresh so the spoiler won't fit your 2013 without bodywork. There may be aftermarket spoilers for the 2013 convertible that look similar.

They only made the spoiler. I say made because SLP discontinued theirs. Not sure if anyone but OEM makes one with the antennae already installed. The antennae you have to transfer from the OEM. I ordered one in Feb and they had a 4-6 week lead time. Got a call after 4 weeks and was told it was discontinued. Did some more searching and found one I liked better at Phastek. It's the ZTA. Got it in 3 days and it was $50 cheaper. Excellent quality and fit. Only issue I had was getting the antennae out of the OEM. Some jerkoff must've used a screw gun set on about a 1000 ft/lbs to put the screws in the plates. I got 1 out of each end plate and 2 out of the center. The rest just spun around in the hole. Had to drill them which just heated them up so they melted the hole in the plates. Found some new screws and was able to get everything installed in the new spoiler.

The body shop who installed my dovetail spoiler also made a plate to go where the third brake light was on the truck.

Now you can do a 2012-13 ZL1 spoiler which has the 3rd light built into the spoiler. Then replace your third light with the filler panel Gm made for the 14 model. I think will give the car a much cleaner look. The 3rd brake light on the 2011-13 kinda looks like an afterthought.

I hope that helps.
Nice vert with the fiberglass tonneau. It would be nice to see a CF tonneau.
