key fob

Called GM to let them know I won't be doing switch. I would need a go go gadget knee to hit the key. Can I be denied an insurance claim like one dealer told a friend who just switched his over.

No you cannot be denied an insurance claim based on the key fob then again if you managed to hit the key fob out of the ignition while driving then your probably just really unlucky or to numb to adjust your seat properly. This type of thing i think falls under act of god directives with insurance just because the key fob was on recall doesn't mean it's a hazard everyone knows it was GM trying to save their asses by doing a complete blanket recall on switchblade keys and i can guarantee you could prove what they switched it with is easier to dislodge from the ignition.

Lol Kevin that's why I'm keeping my original key. My knee would never hit.

no you have the option to either do it, decline reply back or throw outthe letters and think nothing more of it.

Last time I was at the dealer I told the service manager I was not going to participate. He entered my name in a database while I was in his office. Just got another letter last week...

I'm pretty sure I signed something or gave some notice that I wasn't going to do it but I'm still getting letters and emails about it.

I went in for an oil change in November before i stored the car and the service tech told me " oh, and we went ahead and ordered you a need key since yours is recalled"....i politely advised him that he would have 1 extra key in his inventory!!

You have to do anything and everything instructed with your personally owned property that you are told to do via letters or emails that arrive to you.

i.e., it's your car and your keys. Do with them as you wish.

The only way you could knock the key with your knee is if your 6'4" and lay in back seat while driving.
