Best possible gains from Cam & LTs
I have a 2010 l99 looking to put a cam and LTs on it. What's the best possible outcome I can get from these to mods. Can it get me to 600+ I'll probably go with a bigger cam. Any suggestions on the cam?

What other mods do you have???If you only have the mods listed in your signature, a cam and header's will not even get you in the ball park...What's your rwhp currently???

425-475 rwhp with what you have. Ad heads get another 30-40. Nitrous will get you to 600.

New to this car modification stuff. I only have the two minor mods in my sig. The guy at the shop down here gave me a comparison on going big cam to mild cam w/ LTs. Saying with a mild I might pick u 80-100 and a big cam was going net 150+ didn't really sound right had to ask u guys... how do you like the Vegence Stage 1 was it a big difference when you installed.

No nitro for me lol but thanks how do you like your cam. What are the specs on it and is the drivability good?

IMO if you want to get to 600, go the FI route. A good bolt-on supercharger with supporting mods with get there and it will still have the drive ability and reliability. If you are set on the N/A route, the only way to get 600 (without shot) is to add displacement along with a good cam, LT, ported heads and other supporting mods...

Here's some more real world numbers. The base line on my 2010 L99 was 319 rwhp. Now at 435 rwhp with cam, lt headers, hi-flo cats, CAI, ported TB and dyno tune. Add in 3.91 gears, some rear suspension mods and Flow Master mufflers make for a fun ride.

http://www.chevrolet.com/performance...s/1le-zl1.html So I think 80-100 is totally unrealistic.

For that kind of money spend a bit more and go turbo or twin turbo!

You might be able guess somewhere near 600 at the crank with some more power adders thrown in, but as far as to the wheels on an L99 nonetheless, I would consider either giggle juice or getting blown

I have the nightfury cam. Lsa heads. Ported tb. Vararam. Lts. No cats. X pipe. Circle D 3600 stall. And did a complete engine swap so no L99 block. Putting 450rwhp on mustang dyno. So at or a little over 500whp on a dynojet. No driveability issues or surging issues at all. I think most of this is because of the tuner. I had the tsp-vvt 3 cam in my old l99 block with stock heads and it drove like crap compared to now. Do your research. From experience I suggest doing away with vvt dod all together. Nf cam for the win. Brian tooley racing sells it now. And get a stall at or above 3200rpm. That being said tsp says their new version of the vvt2 cam puts down better power than their old vvt3 cam. TC, don't get too hung up on numbers. I am probably only around the 370-380HP ballpark at the wheels, and my car is a blast to drive. I can only imagine how much of an animal JLBIII's car is at 435HP. Take a ride in some friend's Camaros or cars with bolt-on HP and see what you think. This way you can set an HP goal of where you want to be. It takes time, and unfortunately, a lot of money to get big HP on these cars. You don't have to have 500HP to have a bad ass, fun to drive car....but it sure doesn't hurt!
