2021 LT1 Build Sheet = SS
So I requested my build sheet for my 2021 LT1 and the paperwork has it listed as an SS. My insurance policy is the same way.
Does GM not designate the LT1 as its own build? Just curious as to what the rationale is. Wonder if they are just being lazy? |

Is the motor put in the V6 car? Or do they take the SS and add v6 car parts?

Interesting... it is a V8 car with the same HP as an SS so I can't see any difference insurance wise.

It's a SS on paper.

This post just made me check my insurance paperwork on my LT1, and the VIN number is correct on my insurance, but nowhere on any of the paperwork can I find it listed as anything other than "2021 Camaro 2dr Coupe".

It's based on the 5th digit in the VIN:
A = LS and 1LT manual B = LS 1LT auto C = 2LT and 3LT manual D = 2LT and 3LT auto E = 1SS and LT1 manual F = 1SS and LT1 auto G = 2SS manual H = 2SS auto J = ZL1 manual K = ZL1 auto 9 = NON-US

Wow! This is a breakthrough! I wonder why this hasn't been discussed for the last year...

I have a 2021 LT1 and I have the build sheet and it states the same. SS for insurance purposes.

All these bits of info stem from the fact that GM didn't create a new model designation for the LT1, it's the same (1AJ37) as the 1SS.
Also, the internal trim code is 1LZ and not LT1, presumably to avoid mistaking it for the engine RPO, although I must say this is one of the worst trim naming choices I can imagine no matter what... (And yes, this was discussed in quite a bunch of threads already )

I think many of the sales associates at Chevy may agree.......about half the time when I inquired about a prospective LT1 car at their dealership, they pulled up a 3.6L 1LT car from their inventory.
