Well, I built my computer and everything seemed to be running good but I have absolutely no sound. Programs realize that the ports are plugged in and out but I get no actual sound. I've tried driver updates, etc and Asus support ****ing sucks- they keep telling me to call back two hours later and hang up on me.

I went out and bought a cheap sound card to see if that was the issue, but still...nothing. My motherboard is a ASUS P8P67 DELUXE. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues or could offer any help.

Update, sound is only coming out of the green 3.5 mm jack now, don't know if the mic is working because i don't have one atm.

Stupid question but did you try the cd that came with the mother board?

I had an Asus motherboard a couple years ago and I had the same issue when I first installed it. Tried for days to get it to work and did everything you listed as well. I pulled out the cd and low and behold it has a program by Realtek on it that is required in order to get any sound out of the motherboards connections. The program also allows you to change which audio connections are what.
