A6 tuning

The Camaro was tuned and the TM was removed. At the track it spins going into 2nd and 3rd. I want to fix that so it doesn't spin and make it safer at the track and maybe pick up a little time too. I have EFI Live and want to soften the shifts a little.

Any tuners out there that can help?

Here are some vids so you can see what I mean by spinning on the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Those runs were with Nitto 555R DR's on the stock wheels. I can only remove TM completely or all on; no in between.

On my Silverado I can remove any percentage of TM I want but on the new TCM's it is Yes/No option only for TM. That is on my EFI Live so I don't know if that is the case with HP Tuners although it was tuned with HP.

Any other suggestions?

I do not use EFI live but with HP tuners torque management is adjustable.
It works on a combination of tables (Shift torque factor, Shift torque factor adder, Adder modifier & Cold multiplier).
The formula for it is ((Shift torque factor adder * Adder modifier) + Shift torque factor) * Cold modifier.

yes TM can be adjusted to not be as aggressive. When my warranty is up I will have it backed off some but probably not all the way.

Interesting…
I have a 2SS/RS A6 with an EFI Live tune.
My TM is turned off and I have a special converter. I have spinning in 1st if I launch it too hard.
2nd and third are fine, no spinning.
My shifts after the tune are firmer, but not harsh. Do you think your trans is shifting too hard? I did a 13.1 Friday night. I think it will do better once I get everything right.
Do you know the details of your trans tune?

A higher stall converter can make you spin on takeoff because it revs higher so it puts you in the torque curve but yet is looser so it shifts softer going into 2nd and 3rd. On my Silverado I would spin going into 2nd at WOT and even part throttle(with a built tranny) but when I switched to a higher(2600-2800) stall converter the shifts softened up. I can light them up from a stand still like nobody's business though.

I do know the details of my tune because I down loaded into my laptop using EFI Live.

Do you have a copy of your tune?
