Who makes the best axle back for the L99/A6
In your opinion who makes the best axle back for the L99? I'm not looking for anything to loud, just a nice sound. I Know the stock resonator takes care of a lot of the drone, but is there any one system that sounds better when the AFM kicks in? I'll sit back and wait for your opinions

Depends on what sound you want. The SLP Loudmouth II will sound very strong at idel and when you get on it but drone you out of the car and drive you crazy with the AFM.
Corsa sounds good all over the RPM band but not as loud as the SLP but no drone at all. I would tune the AFM off any way you go, you will not loose much in mpg. I actually gained some milage.

Unfortunately Corsa does not sell the axleback, its catback or nothing. With that said, I went with the Borla ATAK axleback. Sounds great, not too loud, and no drone. BTW, LM II (muffler delete) sounds like ass.

I LOVE my magnaflow 2.5" competition axleback. it's got a very deep rumble to it. i love it! I'm putting headers on it now though, so it might be kind of loud. I might be selling it if its too loud.

I'm on the interested in this thread also, so can you install catback and not turn off the AFM? Or what would be the reason into buying a axleback as opposed to a catback?

If you have headers and HF cats you will get drone with the Borla system, I have an ATAK to prove it that I will be selling real soon.

Axle back just gives you a better sound and look over the stock system..Cat back gives you the same, plus a little more performance wise. But at the same time a lot of the cat back systems give you an annoying drone on the L99 when the AFM kicks in. I'm not planing on adding anything else, just an axle back. I like the magnaflow also..but does anyone make a L99 specific system in the axle back, like they do in the cat backs or does it really matter with the axle backs?

What kind of setup did you have before you added the headers? If it was stock with the axle back, how did it sound when cruising. How much louder than the stock was it?

NO drone with the ATAK? I am swaying between Stype and ATAK, but Wow, no drone at all? What about AFM issues? I am wondering if you had a grenade blow up next to your ear years ago

Did you have any issues with the ATAK prior to headers and cats? Or was that installed after. I am looking into the S type and ATAK and don't plan on doing headers (at least not right now)
