Nitto 555G2 rotating on the rims bad !
Hi me again, Last question/remark for today.
Got brandnew Nitto's 555G2 half a year ago and since then only trouble. The back ones rotate on the rims, first I didn't believed what the tire place told me but then I marked them and yes they rotate very much even. Like almost a 360 in a week and yes I do hit it often but its a vert so no track days. Last week I went buy a local GM dealer and they put beatlock on the rims that's like a glue ? on them and I drove home carefully and again a 90 degree chance in the tire vs the rim !! I'm lost and I love my ZL1 to pieces but so much trouble lately see previous thread about my rotors that suck. Anyone else struggle with rotating tires on the street ? No disrespect, but can you reword what the GM dealership did? Not quite understanding. I also love my ZL1 to pieces and never have a problem.

I've never heard of a street tire rotating on the wheels. I run a Nitto 555r2 on the back of my Camaro for the street. Mine makes over 700 rwhp and they don't move, on my drag pack for the track we run the Permatex High Tack Cement on the Hoosier Slicks and RC Component Bandit wheels, hard dead hook launches and they have never moved. I mark the tire at the valve stem with shoe polish to check it after every pass. That shit is awesome and have bee using it for about 5 years on drag radials I've run and slicks. They are glued to that wheel, try it. The bead needs to be perfectly clear on the tire and wheel. The cement needs to set on the tire and wheel for about 20 minutes and then air them back up. Sounds like the original install they may have used a lot of the slick lube to mount the tires and it never dried out.

I have el cheepo Racestars with Mickey ET Streets and the wheels will spin if trying to do digs. Doing digs also wear on those tires pretty bad, which cause traction problems. Anyways - these wheels don't have any knurling, so they'll allow the DRs to slip pretty easily, it seems. I marked my tires to the wheels before I put them on the car, and they slipped fairly soon.
I don't know if the tire shop put too much chooch on the beads during the install, but I know the next time, I'll be doing what Greg said, and use adhesive.

Gonna have to agree with laynlo15 here. I have the G2s on the front of my 2018 ZL1 and the 555r2 on the rears. Never had any issues. I am on my second set of r2 on the rear in fact.
