compact spare

Greetings All,
I would like to share for those of us that purchased a V6 without a compact spare but would like one. It has been a long road piecing together information from many posts. I recently purchased the correct maxxis tire (it is here) from canada as well as the wheel, jack, container, extension and strap from gmpartsdirect.com. The strap is on backorder but the other parts are ordered and should be here soon.

To get the tire; phone# 1-800-4maxxis, X6734 Tell them the size is T155/70R18 for 2010 camaro. Cost was $80 + $17.42 to ship from Ca.

To get other parts;
visit gmpartsdirect.com and enter the part numbers
1)Wheel only (no tire) 18" part #:92230888
2) container #:92200810
3) strap #:25892541
4) extension #:25892542
5) jack kit #:92236233
cost was $151.92 for all parts

good luck,

Bill

Thanks for the part#s. How about some pics once you get all the parts. I'm particularly interested in the container and strap and how everything is stowed.

I know that I need a different wheel for the SS, but I can probably use some of the other parts.

I'm thinking of ordering the spare, but want to make sure all this info is correct. Has anyone ordered these parts? Also are there any pics?

Also, can someone explain what these 3 parts are? Thanks!

2) container #:92200810
3) strap #:25892541
4) extension #:25892542

I called MAXXIS today and they informed me that I can only get the tire from my dealer. Anyone else successfully get the tire from them?

Update: I decided to email them using contact us and a sales representative contacted me and said I could order the tire. I should have it by thursday .

Thanks for the info, I've been thinking about getting the spare tire after I had a flat the other day, (had a sidewall failure) so the flat kit the car came with has no help. thanks to Onstar for roadside assistance to get the car towed to the dearlership.

I got the tire from Maxxis today, so now I have everything. The only thing I noticed that I don't have is the tire valve. Hopefully when I go to a tire shop to have them put the tire on the rim they can provide the valve.
