oem spoiler removal

Any one know his to remove the OEM trunk lid spoiler want to plastidip it black to see what it looks like before actually painting it" if removal is not difficult the car is summit white btw

Open the trunk and you will see 2 plugs on each side. Remove the plugs and you will find nuts that require a 10mm socket I believe. Under the trunk liner, you will find two more nuts toward the centre of the trunk lid for the center part of the spoiler.

Don't drop the nuts into the trunk lid. They are a pain to retrieve! LOL

Don't forget about the plastic clip. Beside one of the center nuts is a plastic retainer clip. You will need to reach in and squeeze teh clip together before you can remove the spoiler. It is not hard, but you might need an extra set of hands to hold the spoiler while you work the clip. I did exactly the same thing and Plsti-Dipped my spoiler to make sure I liked it black.

If you're just plasti-dipping don't worry about removal. Just tape it off and mask the car a couple newspaper pages deep and spray away. Even if you get overspray on the car you can easily rub it off with your fingers.
