So I am thinking about getting line lock to help me with launching(hopefully). My main question is with line lock once I'm staged and ready to go, I engage line lock, then I'm wondering if i let of the clutch completly and hold the RPMs around 2K would that help? Is it even possible? What harm would I be doing to my car? I go to the track about once a month, so it's not like I would be doing it everyday. Below is the video of my 13.6 run. As you can see I bogged it really bad off the launch.
You need to get the RPM up for starters.

On a decently prepped track with any kind of decent tires, a 2000 rpm launch will more than likely bog the car.
I coulda swore that LC holds the rpm's at 3400 or higher. cant remember off hand.

Only advice I can give if any is to practice and get a feel for your car. I can usually pull 1.8 60ft times off stock tires at stock air psi levels. Oh and that's not using the cars stock launch control which in my opinion sucks because all my car does is bog down when using it. I have only about 4 passes on the car so its something you gotta get the hang off. Every driver is different. My best time in a 1/8 was 8.6 so i know your car is capable of doing much more. Best of luck to you.

regardless of what it is, it isn't adjustable (at least I haven't found a way to adjust it through hp tuners or anything in the owners manual). It might keep you consistant, but it won't give you the best 60'

no, its not really made for the best launch. just for those who are inexperienced to launch consistently.

the best way to adjust it is, honestly, to turn it off and use your right foot.

and practice

I have a MSD 2 that I want to install. Mounting a micro switch on the clutch pedal and adjusting it after it is mounted, will be no easy feat.

Catalyst = Catalytic converters

Spending a lot of time on the two-step is very hard on catalytic converters because all that unburned fuel ends up in the exhaust. That's bad both because of the physical shock caused by the banging and popping as the fuel finally ignites, and the dead-rich condition loading up the catalyst.

Got it. Does the same apply to high flow cats?

Why the cluth pedal? Wouldn't that cause the MSD to activate when your shifting as well? Although it probably would'nt matter as far as ET.

There, I don't know. There's still going to be a rich condition issue, but you would think that a free-flowing cat core made to OEM or better standards, mechanically speaking, would be better able to endure the physical aspect.
