New SLP Style Splitter Install (cheap)
Got this splitter on EBAY for $168 plus taxes. The best part is free shipping, so about $174 total.
It came unpainted, so I used a can of matte black spray paint that matched my stripes, that came out good. The install was super easy. I drilled out the preset holes in the splitter on the bench. Used my son and wife to hold it in place along with clamps on each corner. Once held in place I drilled through the lower plastic bumper at each hole in the splitter. Even thou most install threads say you need to remove the entire front bumper I was able to simply remove two bolts under the front valance, pull it down slightly and reach up from underneath to every bolt/nut needed. Tightened each bolt (10) up with loc tight and done. Painted it Saturday, installed on Sunday (30 minutes easy). |

wait, so this isn't the SLP splitter, just one that is styled after one? Is it hard plastic, or is it flexible?
looks really nice. Link?

How was the install? Did it come with everything needed? Might just buy myself an early father's day gift!

I've been looking at these for the last couple weeks. Was just about to ask if I should get it or not. Looks like I'm doing it. The SLP one is 250 and for some reason they want $100+ for shipping!! Thanks.

i bought the same splitter, they say its the ZL1 style. Comes without hardware. It is unpainted and rigid plastic. I used 3/8" x 2" drywall butterfly anchors. Work perfect considering the flange portion that is used for fastening is only about 4 inches deep. After taking out cheap little GM "rock" guard, we drilled (3) 7/16" dia holes (center, left, right) thru splitter, after dry fitting and marking. then drilled same in underside of bumper cover. Then fitup splitter using 3 anchors. Then drilled the remaining 9 holes directly thru splitter and bumper cover spaced appropriately. I will mention that where the splitter wraps around (90 deg bend) you can see where the anchors are installed from standing by tire and looking between tire and bumper cover flange. So instead of anchors I used 2 of the existing black plastic nut/bolt sets that the factory "rock" guard was fastened by. This way it looks like a stock install from that view. For $160, it was an easy and good looking mod that took only 45-60 minutes. Also i painted splitter with flat black to match my Rally stripes. Originally it came unpainted, sort of glossy black.
