DashTronix Radar Projector! Display your V1 or 9500ci radar detector on the DIC+HUD!

is proud to announce the arrival of the all new Radar Projector for the 2010-up Camaro.

Now you can display your Valentine 1™ or Escort 9500ci (custom install) radar detector in your
DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode), and HUD (if equipped).

The HUD is not required to display your radar detector on your DIC.

The Radar Projector no longer displays on the radio!
Your radio is now free to display its info uninterrupted.

Below is an animation of the Radar Projector in use on the DIC (in navigation mode), and
HUD (if equipped).

The tiny Radar Projector™ comes with everything you need right out of the box. It plugs into your car at the OBD-II port under the steering column with the included 3 foot cable cable. It automatically controls the power to the Valentine 1™, using the telephone cord that came with your Valentine 1™, by sensing when you turn your engine on and off without the need for tapping fuses, wires or using the lighter outlet. The 9500ci Radar Projector is also plug and play with the Escort 9500ci radar detector.

With its incredible efficiency and intelligence it's designed to be left plugged in to your car at all times. We have a solution for users that have something already plugged into the OBD-II port. There is an additional proprietary splitter that allows two devices to be plugged into the OBD-II port at the same time, which is available at the time of purchase. That way you can use both devices simultaneously.

Here are some of the exciting features of the new Camaro Radar Projector™.
  • There are three operational modes:
    1. Display onHUD. (if equipped)
    2. Display onDIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode), and HUD (if equipped) cars at the same time.
    3. Radar Projector Off and the V1™ display will be illuminated.
You do not need the HUD to use the Radar Projector. Your V1 alerts will be displayed on the radio or DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode).
  • There are two different radar signal strength display formats in both HUD (if equipped) cars, and DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode).
    1. Format 1: Meters run right to left on the HUD (if equipped) cars and top to bottom on the DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode) and radio.
    2. Format 2: Meters run left to right (HUD, DIC use asterisks)
  • The RP™ modes and display formats can be switched by the user while
    driving.

    1. To change the mode of your RP, your cruise control must be on (be sure indicator light is lit). Press the cruise control “cancel” button twice with no more than 1 second between presses. The RP will advance to the next mode, indicating the new mode on the DIC and HUD.
    2. When the car is shut off, the RP will remember the last used mode so when you start your car, the RP starts in the same mode as you last selected.

All information from your Valentine 1™ or 9500ci radar detector is transferred to the DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode) and HUD (if equipped) cars so you don't have to take your eyes off the road to have radar
situational awareness. There is simply nothing else like the
Radar Projector™ available!

For more information, installation instructions, or to order your Radar Projector™, visit
http://www.dashtronix.com.

Units are on sale, in stock, and ready to ship!

The DashTronix Radar Projector is 100% designed and built in the USA.

Will this still work with the 8500 X50? I'd love to have one of these! So, these will work on 2010's without HUD perfectly fine right?

Thanks for the questions.

The Radar Projector can indeed display on the DIC on 2010 Camaro's that do not have the HUD.

The Radar Projector is not compatible with the Escort 8500 x50.

The Radar Projector is only compatible with the Valentine 1 radar detector and the Escort 9500ci custom install detector.

:( Looks like I'm going to have to upgrade soon! Haha. I really like that gauge projector too. That would eliminate having to find a spot for gauges and would be pretty sleeper. Thanks for the reply!

this is no doubt very cool, but i do have some pretty intense questions:

1. has anyone/could anyone/do you think it is feasible to have the detector mounted somewhere at the front of the bumper and just use the HUD for readouts? IMO the only benefit of your device is for safety precautions so your radar detector is not visible to the naked eye when someone looks in your car and so you don't have to pack it up every time you park. what do you know/think about the feasibility of this option? i could see this being difficult with the radar detectors in question since both have rear radar protection that would likely require dismantling the detector itself to attached to both ends of the vehicle...perhaps there is another inconspicuous place to mount that is of less trouble?

2. hooking up something in the OBD...hrmm. i'm not sure if this assumption is accurate, but won't that void the warranty?

Thanks for the questions.

1: The Valentine 1 probably should not be mounted in the front of a car. It is not weather proof and would probably not last very long in the harsh outdoor environment.

The Escort 9500ci unit does mount in the bumpers with all components hidden from view. It is a custom installed unit that has radar sensors and laser sensors that are mounted in the front and rear of the car with the main unit hidden from sight.

2: Many devices are designed to be plugged in to the OBD-II port, such as diagnostic equipment, that can be purchased off-the-shelf from designers that are not associated with GM.

I have a 9500ci and mounted the display just above the DIC and below the turn signal indicators. I always have the DIC set on speed since it is impossible to read the analog speedometer on the 2010 SS. My question is can the unit be programmed to show the speed and the radar function on the same screen?
