Magnaflow Exhaust

First mod. Went to my local muffler shop and did several sound tests and to me this one was the best!

Sounds awsome! I love the magnaflows and glad I went with them as well. Yours sounds pretty much like mine, cept with more snarl. Think I should have tried mine first without going ahead and installing the resonated X-pipe in addition to my magnaflow mufflers cause my exhaust is almost too smooth now lol. But it is getting better with more miles, and i think once I add a CAI it will help that out.

Thanks KMPrenger...it was you and a few others that got me going on Magnaflow over Flowmaster. I am going to try and get some driving videos up in the next few days...sounds much better under load than just at idle.

I thought about the Xpipe also...but thought it sounded pretty good on its own.

I did mine about four months ago. Used the same 14" units,4" dual walled tips that were 12" long, boy did those just fit ! I had to much booming resonance inside the cabin at 1-2000 rpm with the A6 shifting automatically so I to went with the resonated x pipe and that helped alot and is more livable.Funny thing is it is quieter outside then inside, I did a slow drive by on our street and my wife could hardly hear anything at all,should be the otherway around and would be perfect! But when punching it to 6500 rpm it does sound deep and mean but not as high pitched and screaming as others do and no rasp.

You mentioned a cai for changing the sound and it does help. I have the Airaid V2 and after a week with the new tube the sound got deeper and not as boomy. Mid July and the D/T shorties will be here and hopefully gets deeper and more growl!

Thats like mine but Xpipe mellows it down more up to about 3500-4000 rpm but when the car downshifts and you punch it at 4000-6500 it screams about the same, just little more muffled. Your's sounds great, I think just the way it should be for these cars so they don't get to high toned.

Part numbers are in the first post under this thread...really enjoying the sound. Next is probably the Injen CAI but waiting a bit to see what else might become available.

blackbee...I'm thinking DT shorties and the magnaflows are gonna be awsome.... !! You have to get some nice vids of that lol.

and just for the sake of mentioning it, member MYBEE (I think thats correct) has a magnaflow setup but with BBK long tubes and I have to say I thought it sounded very good as well. Before that, I'd say I really wouldn't have considered long tubes b/c the tone of the other LT setups was just too much for me.

It is member OUR BEE, but hey you were close enough. As for the sound of my setup it exceeded my expectations. It does have a small amount of rasp from 2nd to 3rd shift with the windows down, but I can't hear it with the windows up. The small amount of rasp was well worth the performance gain IMO.

Sounds great!! It was suggested to me that I install an X pipe also but I think its sounds great the way that it is. I don't want muffled sound. It's a Camaro!!

Yeah I like his sound. Did the Xpipe only because of the in cabin resonance at 1-2000 rpm with the auto to much around town and at 65-70, really pissed me off and my wife didn't like it either. One good thing about the resonated xpipe is the drone is toned down, and his sound was a bit loud in cabin, and it allegedly increases bottom to mid range torque according to Magnaflow.
