Radar Detectors

I am definitely planning on getting a good radar detector to get a heads up on when to slow it down....any suggestions and/or feedback from personal experiences?

Valentine 1. Many people swear by it. Others will suggest the Passport 9500. Both are great radars.

There are extensive threads on this. You should try doing a search.

There are many threads on here about this, some with links to comparisons. Try searching for one of those.

I have looked around a bit already and have heard that Valentines are pretty reliable. Anyone heard anything about the Cobra XRS R9G detector? I read a write up on it and it seemed legit, if you don't mind dropping $400 for it.

Heard alot about the Valentine One (too expensive for me) and the Passport series (can be had for cheap/reasonable price). Dont know about the Cobra series, or stuff they sell at Walmart, lol.

Valentine is worth every penny, I've had a few models in my time and the Valentine is by far the most reliable.imo

my question is this...do most HP use radar or lidar now?? specifically CHP... because if radar is used very little, neither one will help. BTW i want one too! just dont want to waste my money.

Check our this link - it will give you a pretty up-to-date comparison of the ESCORT vs the VALENTINE. Both are good - you just have to make up your mind what features you want and need. Some have GPS - others will warn you to red light cameras etc etc. I have a Beltraonics - -which is also a pretty good brand-- it is a few years old but still works well--- what your really need is a jammer - but are illegal in most states-- Good Luck
