use a heatgun, warm up the bowtie til its hot but not melting of course and take some thick dental floss. Slide it under the edge and pull and it comes off 1-2-3. Use some pre cleaner to take the glue residue off when done.

it should but it will take longer, make sure it gets nice and warm. You might have to tug harder if you canr get enough heat not a huge deal you can do it.

Let me know if you have any paint defects behind your bowtie because mine did now I am filling the holes and painting that section of the trunk.

I had some. Initially I thought that I had made them, but that would have been almost impossible. Good thing I was taking it off so that I could black out the decklid...

Hmm looks like the lazy GM guys are messing up on the emblem install. Yeah I am having the shop weld the holes shot and smooth the metal out. Once the bowtie was remove, my car being black the metal looked distored at the vertical crease like from the stamping process. I still cant understand why GM punches two large holes for alignment of this stupid emblem, its not necessary.

Not sure if I am painting gloss black or sating yet I need to decide on the stripes if I do them or not and my wheel finish.

FWIW...Those holes were put in there as an assembly aid which allow the operator to keep the emblem centered, but an alternative process which does not require holes is being developed. At some point (I don't have the exact build date) - those holes will no longer be there.
