Don't tell me you guys with the remote start don't utilize it so you can get the car cool before you get in!

I never understood why people did this. What's the point? It's an extra step you have to do once you've turned on your car in the morning or whenever you start it up next. I have mine set specifically to where I want it and if it moves i throw the biggest fit ever. I know what I like and it better stay that way, my passengers that ride in my car know better than to mess with the a/c. Radio I don't care much for since I can barely hear it and still talk to someone thanks to the exhaust.

Depends if I want it on the next time I start the car.
If I'm parking it for the night and not driving it until 6:00am the next morning to go to work, then it gets turned off. If I'm parking it after going to lunch at work and its hot outside, the A/C stays switched on.

From April-September my AC stays on. I'm in Las Vegas after all. With today's modern equipment I don't think it makes any difference.

I do it too. I have friends that say they just leave the AC on.

A/C off- Florida A/C
A/C on- When it insanely hot outside and/or have passengers P. S. Remote starting with A/C, in Florida, helps it cool down before you get in the oven-like interior during summer months!!!!

I can't remember consciously turning the A/C off, but usually by the time I reach my destination, I've turned the A/C fan speed down to "1" anyways. Here in Iowa, the sun only shines 40 days a year, so A/C is rarely needed.
I'm pretty much in the habit of turning everything off, closing the sunroof and rolling up the windows whenever I get out of the car (unless I'm at a car event). P.S. When I park the car in the garage, I also close the roof and windows - I think it helps preserve the new car smell - now that's OCD.

I've owned two cars for over ten years, a 1985 Trans Am and a 1998 Crown Vic. I put over 130,000 miles on each of those cars. I never turned the A/C or radio off before shutting down those vehicles. I never had engine work done to either one, and never had a problem. I'm thinking this is an old wives tale.
